Turning on your iPod's backlightOne feature that you can personalize is the iPod backlighting. This can allow you to better see the display in low light. In other less demanding times, it can be turned off to reduce battery use. Your iPod can be easily configured to allow the backlight to be turned on for a set amount of time when you press a button or move the scroll wheel. Accessing the backlight settings 1. Select Settings > Backlight Timer. 2. Select a setting from the menu. Options include having the backlight timer: * Off * Turn off after a period of time between 2 and 20 seconds * Always on A backlight on/off switch can be added to the Main menu by selecting: Settings > Main Menu > Backlight Older iPods can toggle the backlight on or off by simply holding the menu button down. This is another one of those features that won't make you run around the city telling everyone how happy it made you, but it will make things easier.
